2020 Judith Lapple
Summer Woodwind Camp & Music Festival
In its 26th year!
New this year! The pre-college workshop was created for high school graduates who plan to attend music school in the Fall of 2020 to pursue a degree in music at a college or university. The topic of the three-part workshop is "Making the Most of Your Freshman Year as a Music Student."
Taught by three college professors (Dr. Jennifer Lapple (flute), George Mason University, Professor Christopher Jewell (bassoon), George Mason University and Professor Kristen Spiridon (clarinet), Georgia Southern University, this workshop is designed to prepare rising music majors for the challenges of managing a full music and academic course load, meeting the expectations of faculty and ensemble directors and building supportive friendships.
The workshop consists of 3, 1 hour sessions, which will cover the following topics:
The workshops are scheduled from 4:00-5:00 (immediately following the camp day) and are held at Trinity Christian School (exact days, TBD). On the days of the workshops, students participating in the pre-college workshop may finish the regular camp day 15 minutes early for a short break and snack.
